The Uniform Project

Since May 2009, Sheena Matheiken decided to wear a little black dress for 365 consecutive days (7 alt! blacks clothes for each day of the week) as an exercise in sustainable fashion. Sheena bold!
Every day the dress is reinvented with accessories and shoes, preferably vintage and hand-made. The Uniform Project

is also a fundraiser for the annual The Akanksha Foundation, a nonprofit organization that charge of education in India. At the end of the year all funds raised (through donations, but also save on purchases) will go to them, in order to buy uniforms and everything you need for some schools in India.

The dress chosen, suitable to be worn for a whole year is a super durable cotton and has been designed by his friend designer Eliza Starbuck.

Saturday July 4, 2009 from 18.30 to Gabba Gabba Rock Club Taranto will take place an event-meeting: ArteAlterNATIVA.
ArteAlterNATIVA is a network, collective thinking and shared. E 'multi-faceted vision of reality independent art. And 'the proposal to use contemporary intelligence. And 'the idea of \u200b\u200benvironmental sustainability declined at different artistic forms and lived by the western suburbs, the south of Italy. A proposal for a new model of global citizenship, shared, respectful of cultures and the planet.
The event stems from the idea through various art forms to convey the concept of sustainability is understood in terms of environmental and cultural standpoint, for the enjoyment of the arts. The aim of the initiative is to create an open circuit of artists in the south of Italy they have a chance to meet your audience and get to know each other creating a workshop of ideas to be exported even outside the national territory.
